About Arianne

Hello! I’m Arianne Liu, a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leader in the health and retail industry. I’m currently based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. I’m the co-founder of Unfold Movement, an online and in-person trauma-informed personal training service, and founder of Unfold U, where we deliver diversity and inclusion workshops. I am also a former co-owner of a brick-and-mortar gym in the Burnaby Heights.

I am all about living a life of balance that includes having fun and doing impactful work. I am in the practice of checking my privileges and occasionally stepping outside my comfort zone. The more I learn, the less I know. Growing up, the privileges I had access to as a teen and young adult gave me opportunities to activities that shaped who I am today. I did competitive training for classical ballet for over 7 years, including coming in first place with Goh Ballet Academy. I was also selected to play in the BC Winter Games for Netball. In post-secondary, I received the Leadership Award from my peers, competed in case competitions, and successfully led a team to build Capilano University’s first Collegiate chapter for the marketing association. This work presented my team and me, the “Outstanding Chapter Planning Award”, by the American Marketing Association.

I believe working on yourself will yield a greater return when serving others. I love leading life by example. This drove me to push myself through a series of mental and physical challenges, such as competing in the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic Bodybuilding Competition and leading as Founding President for the Capilano University Marketing Association, while acquiring my Bachelors of Business of Administration and co-owning DyerFitness Inc.

In enduring all of this, I realized I lacked fulfillment in my life. This led me to a 7-month soul-filled journey that included doing a full-term academic exchange in China, backpacking alone in Southeast Asia, and volunteering abroad in Myanmar. When I was away, I had space to connect with myself and re-learn who I was. When I got home, I began the process of letting go of beliefs, people, places, commitments, and expectations that were no longer authentic to me. It wasn’t easy and I had to unlearn/unpack many things, but I’ve figured out all the dos and don’ts of getting to where I am today.

What I have learned is that many successful people and businesses are built on a great system in place. So why not apply the same approach to your health and fitness goals? This right here is how you achieve a breakthrough to success. I’ve been able to apply this to my fitness, health, nutrition goals etc… and I’ve reaped rewards for what I dedicated my time to. I work alongside top experts in their industry to help me bring to you the best information possible to help you achieve success.

The more I experienced, the more I realized that many systemic and social barriers prevent people from accessing resources to thrive. This has led me to work that includes educating people on how to create more inclusive and accessible spaces through my role as a diversity and inclusion instructor.

I am known as a results-driven human resource professional and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in relationship building, personal development and project management.

I have trained over 3500 employees through my corporate role, over 300+ clients as a health and fitness professional, been a panellist for Universities and delivered countless workshops. I offer virtual and in-person DEI workshops, health & wellness coaching, and trauma-informed personal training in Burnaby.
